My thanks to the collectors of this oil.

This was a simple idea and it evolved into an interesting project. The simple part was to paint a hillside covered with yellow trees. The project part became how to take this simple idea and make it interesting everywhere.

Every part of this painting supports the yellow trees and the other 4 elements: ground, 2 hills and sky all add something interesting and necessary to this composition. There were many starts, dead ends and little successes along the way… a real workout.

Looking back on this it was a bit like taking a solo road trip and along the way, 4 more friends got in the car, sharing ideas on where to go and we all ended up in a really lovely place.
